Helping Hands Support (Outreach Uganda)

Helping Hands Support (HHS) has funded the construction of, and currently supports, an overseas non-governmental organization (NGO) compound which is located on a plot of land in the Zirobwe (Janda) area of Uganda. The name of this overseas NGO is Ahava Amare Children Center (AACC). This NGO, in its entirety, consists of the AACC Headquarters building, a Christian School and a Christian Church. The Headquarters building serves as the NGO's central hub, and it also houses the NGO's founder and her family along with elements of the NGO staff. The school currently provides educational opportunities almost exclusively to orphans that live in the Zirobwe (Janda) area.

The collocated church is also having a great impact on both young and old alike in the Zirobwe (Janda) area. Through the financial support of HHS this Children's Center provides a loving environment where underprivileged youth have the opportunity to become self-sufficient and productive members of the Christian church and of society and where lives both young and old are impacted. This overseas NGO has evolved into Helping Hands Support's representative & model "pilot-program".

A Message of Hope
On-site Director of the Uganda Outreach

G3 4

Born and raised in the quiet village of Luweero, Uganda, Joan Sanyu’s life was shaped by the very struggles she would one day dedicate herself to overcoming. As an orphaned child, she grew up in a children's foundation that provided her shelter, education, and a sense of belonging which were blessings she never took for granted. It was in this environment that Joan’s passion for helping vulnerable children took root. She knew from an early age her life's mission was to be a light for those who had no one else to turn to.

Determined to make a difference, Joan founded the Ahava Amare Children’s Centre. The name "Ahava Amare", Latin for 'Love Forever', reflects her deep commitment to the orphans and underprivileged children that are the target of her life's mission. Helping Hands Support (HHS), the US based international relief organization, has recognized Joan’s unwavering and selfless dedication to others. As a result, HHS has funded the construction of the Children's Center headquarters, the Children's Center school buildings and the Children's Center church all in the Zirobwe (Janda) area of Uganda.

As a result of these key projects, the surrounding region is now being impacted and transformed. The school provides much needed educational opportunities to local youth. Through the support of HHS, the church has, and continues to, launch and sustain outreach programs to the poor, to widows, to children, to the sick and to individuals in various other areas of both spiritual and material need. As a result, much needed hope is being brought to the region.
